I’ve finally gotten around to creating a formal errata file, and a code update. The code update is an encrypted ZIP file; the password is the second word on page 37. The paths should be set up correctly to match the original CD. To use, simply unzip it to the directory where you copied the CD contents.

I have trouble extracting the files from the zip file. Here is the error message I got from WinZip8.1:
“Extracting to “C:\Documents and Settings\gavkar\Local Settings\Temp\”
Use Path: no Overlay Files: yes
skipping: About the CDROM.pdf unsupported compression method 99
error: no files were found – nothing to do
”
This happens for all files, not only for this file.

The issue is probably that I’ve been using WinZip 9 and the compression and encryption techniques it uses are not very portable. I’ve switched to the more portable versions of both, so hopefully that will take care of the problem.
